Your child practises for about ten minutes a day. NaVi Vocab chooses the questions, brings each word back when it's due, and counts a word as mastered only when your child gets it right on a question they haven't seen, a week after learning it. You can see why each word is marked on its page.

1. Sign in as a grown-up, with Google or an email link.
2. Add your child: their first name, school year, and a username and password you choose.
3. Give your child their sign-in card, then choose the Foundation words together.

• Check they chose I'm a child on the sign-in page, not I'm a grown-up.
• Check the username on their sign-in card. Capital letters don't matter in a username.
• The password must match exactly, including capital letters.
• After a few wrong tries, NaVi Vocab asks for a short break. Wait a minute, then try again.
• Still stuck? Sign in yourself, open Family from your profile menu and choose Change password for your child. There is no reset email: only you can change it.

• Use the same Google account or email address you signed up with.
• If the email link doesn't arrive, check your spam folder, then ask for a new link. Each link works once, for a short time.

NaVi Vocab works in the web browser on phones, tablets and computers: use the latest Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox. You can add it to your home screen to open it like an app. iPhone and Android apps will come later.

Add NaVi Vocab to your home screen

• On an iPhone or iPad: open NaVi Vocab in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
• On Android: open NaVi Vocab in Chrome, tap the ⋮ menu, then Add to Home screen.
